A MESSAGE FROM OUR PRESIDENT

President's Message

Some people think of their “Golden Years” as a cup that is half-empty. Others as a cup that is half-full. I have been reading JoySpan, The Art and Science of Thriving in Life’s Second Half, a recently published book written by Dr. Kerry Burnight.  The author poses the question, “What does it mean to live better?”  Dr. Burnight’s answer is adaptability, a key ingredient to managing life’s transitions such as retirement or health challenges.  Many of us have already, or are thinking of, retiring. Some of us are facing our own health challenges or the health challenges of a loved one. By facing life’s inevitable challenges with adaptability, we can continue to grow as we age, rather than thinking of aging as a decline. Accept the inevitability of change. Let’s face it, the only constant in life is that it keeps changing.
