Executive Committee

Lynda is a psychotherapist for the past 3 years working primarily with older adults at the Mental Health Association of Essex/Morris County. Lynda has a Master’s degree in Social Work from Fordham University and Master’s Degree in Health Administration from the University of Cincinnati. Lynda is a Certified Dementia Practitioner, a Certified Healthcare Advocate and a former Nursing Home Administrator. Her passion is working with older adults in the community to live their best lives.

Fran, a long-time resident of Montclair, has been a board member of AIM since its founding in 2015.  Fran initially served as chair of Membership and Communications before becoming Vice President and Communications chair. In the past, Fran has also served as Membership chair on the board of the Montclair Cooperative School and has volunteered with Montclair Film. A clinical psychologist, Fran has worked in both hospital and outpatient settings, including private practice in Montclair. She has also been a consultant to the Social Security Division of Disability Determinations for the state of NJ.

Susan has been a member of the AIM board since its inception. Susan was the Community Education chair before assuming her current position as secretary.  A retired educator, Susan spent her career in special education, culminating with 22 years as a Learning Disabilities Teacher-Consultant for the Hanover Township school district.  She is past president of the Oratorio Society of New Jersey, whose alto section she has sung with for over thirty years.

Terry moved to Montclair in 1970 and raised her family here.  She began her legal career working for a labor union and later switched to litigation.  Always a volunteer for something, she helped to start the Special Olympics Program in New Jersey and was its President for 3 years.  She has served on the boards of mental health programs and has been an officer and board chair of the Glen Ridge Volunteer Ambulance Squad for 10 years.  Since retiring from practicing law, Terry has worked part-time at Glen Ridge High School to keep herself active.

Judy and her family have lived in and around Montclair since 1967. She was a founder and past president of the Montclair Co-op Upper School and B’nai Keshet Reconstructionist Synagogue and was president of several other Montclair organizations. Professionally she taught at Montclair State and worked as a program creator, strategic planner and consultant on organizational change. She is also a long-time fiber artist whose work has been shown at the Morristown Museum and Montclair Art Museum. In 2025 she won first place in the Essex County Senior Art show and third place in the state contest in the mixed media category.

Emy Kamihara, Saturday Social Coordinator

Emy is a second-generation Nisei of Japanese immigrant Issei parents. After college, where she majored in English, she did graduate studies in Education. She then worked in a Japanese bank and at the Institute of International Education.  Further studies in Teaching English as a Second Language led to work at Bloomfield College as a tutor, adjunct instructor and Director of English for Academic Purposes.  In retirement, Emy enjoys the opportunities provided by AIM’s many enriching programs.

Carolyn grew up in Philadelphia and was a science teacher there. She moved to Montclair in 1956, where she held leadership positions in PTA, LWV, and AIM. She worked as an interviewer for the University of Michigan and the US Census Bureau. She is one of the founders of AIM and started the monthly Saturday Social program.

Nancy is a former foreign service officer who moved to Montclair from Washington, DC in 2012 to be near her son’s family and continue her acting career in NYC. She joined the AIM board in 2024 and designed a program with the Montclair History Center to interview well known older Montclair residents before a live audience. She has been a member of the planning committee for AIM’s Spring 2026 symposium, “Living our Best Lives.”

Annette Weis, Past President (2019-2025):

Annette’s educational background includes a BSW (Penn State), MA in Counseling (Columbia) and certifications from NYU.  She began her career with Behavioral Technology, Inc, an innovator in programmed instruction. She held various positions related to personnel services, including at Montclair State University and at BEGIN programs, a combined project of NYC and SUNY on welfare-to-work programs. Annette was Director of Development at Essex County College and spent 10 years as VP of Human Resources with Barnabas Health Care System.  A board member of the Metaphysical Center of New Jersey for 10 years, she is past president and current advisor for the Society of Dowsers, Inc.
