Can you share a bit about your background?

I was born and raised in Forest Hills, NY with my parents and an older sister. My grandparents lived around the corner from us, and I spent a great deal of time with them.

What's a fun fact about you that most people don't know?

I was the photo editor of a national magazine, owned a horse farm and a knitting store, but not at the same time. My life has taken many twists and turns, so I feel like I’ve had many different experiences that have enriched me.

How did you learn about AIM and why did you join?

I learned about AIM from Lynda Hollander, who has given so much of her time to this organization that it motivated me to join and participate.

Who has influenced you the most in your life?

I have been influenced by my first real job working at a magazine called “Family Weekly.” I realized there that I was a very capable person who could

What are some of the biggest changes you've seen in the world during your lifetime?

The changes in the world in the last 69 years have been enormous! I remember seeing signs on restaurant doors warning that there was a microwave oven and if you had a pacemaker you shouldn’t go in. I really didn’t understand that, and it scared me. But now it’s a standard piece of equipment in almost every kitchen. Cell phones, cable, internet, to name a few, have completely changed the world.

If you could have dinner with any historical figure, who would it be and why?

I would love to have dinner with the Obamas. They both have such charisma and insight, and I’d love to hear about their personal journeys and what they have planned for the future.

What's one thing you've always wanted to learn how to do but haven't had the chance to yet?

I would love to learn patience but I just can’t get the hang of it. I have tried, and sometimes I succeed, but too often I fail. My two daughters have also taught me a great deal about life in a very positive way. They are both married to people that I love and respect, and I have 2 grandchildren that are the light of my life. I moved to West Orange almost 3 years ago to be closer to them, and I work out and stay healthy so I can keep up with them. Some of my favorite days are spending time with my grandkids taking them to fun and interesting places.
