AIM Explores Senior Living Options

  • Aging In Montclair, Inc. - Zoom (map)

Aging in Montclair (AIM) invites the community to an informative talk on senior living choices featuring Marc Friedlander, Certified Senior Advisor (CSA).  The program is part of AIM’s monthly Saturday Social series and will be presented via Zoom on Saturday, April 24 at 2:00.  Following Mr. Friedlander’s talk, he will answer questions from audience members.

Roughly 44 million Americans provide unpaid informal care each year to the older US population. Particularly as baby boomers age, families may be faced with the emotional decision of moving a parent, spouse, or other family member into a different living environment. Making such decisions can be overwhelming and difficult.  When is the right time to move? Where should the person move to? What if other family members cannot agree to the move?  Such issues can complicate the decision-making process.

Marc Friedlander has both personal and professional experience in helping families navigate the complexities of senior living choices. In his presentation, Marc will look at the characteristics of Senior Living Communities and the benefits they can provide. Audience members will learn the differences among Independent Living, Assisted Living, Memory Care, Nursing Care, and Continuing Care Retirement Communities (CCRDs).  He will also discuss current COVID-19 conditions and their impact on Senior Living Communities.

Marc has an undergraduate degree in psychology from George Washington University and an MBA from Montclair State University.  The son of AIM member Eve Friedlander, Marc lives in the beautiful Richmond, Virginia area with his wife and two children.
