that inform, advocate and educate
AIM joins the SCAC (Senior Citizens Advisory Council) Housing Task Force in researching and developing cutting edge proposals that address housing alternatives.
As a co-sponsor of the 2017 Seniorama event November 9th, we're shining a spotlight on the hotly debated topic of senior-friendly housing.
Serving the community requires us to bring many voices into the loop, to ask others how they define growing old successfully.
You can invite AIM speakers to address a small gathering of your friends or neighbors-- anywhere you are: in senior residences, apartment buildings and group events. Reach out to outreach!
The Speakers Bureau shares information about the efforts of Lifelong Montclair and its partners within each of the 8 Domains of Livability. This cross-communication initiative was made possible through funding from the Township.
AIM joined the Township Transportation Roundtable to represent member concerns at the township level.
Having significant input from our older residents, we were able to help facilitate improvements with the Senior Bus (dispatched door to door service), and the taxi voucher program.
Conversations on Aging In Community are facilitated, confidential group discussions that foster relationship building and consciousness raising. Participants share stories and shape solutions.

AIM Time Bank
Time-banking is a time-based currency that helps to build circles and networks of mutual support.
With time-banking, each one hour of service equals one time credit. You can use credits earned to receive a wide range of in-kind services and you are able to donate earned credits to others. Description of services can include driving, shopping, minor household repairs, etc.
Saturday afternoons at the AIM Hub is where old and new friends gather. Drop in for punch and cookies, a chat and music.
Fourth Saturday of every month 2-4pm at the AIM Hub.
